How the IPL 2026 Points Table is calculated

The IPL 2026 points table ranks each of the ten franchises by match wins, with ties decided by Net Run Rate (NRR). A win is worth 2 points, a no-result gives both teams 1 point, and a loss yields 0. The top four teams at the end of the league stage qualify for the IPL playoffs (Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2) and compete for the IPL 2026 final.

Final 2026 table and qualification scenarios

Royal Challengers Bangalore topped the 2026 table with the best NRR in the league and went on to lift the trophy. Gujarat Titans qualified second and pushed RCB all the way in the final. Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings rounded out the playoff race; all four finished within two wins of each other going into the final week, which made NRR the decisive tiebreaker.

NRR = (average runs scored per over by the team) − (average runs conceded per over). A positive NRR means the team scores faster than opponents; a negative NRR means it scores slower.
