A quantitative fantasy-cricket desk. Not a media outlet.
CricJosh.app is the data-science subdomain of the CricJosh network. Where the parent property covers cricket news and live blogs, this property runs an expected-fantasy-points (xFP) engine that publishes ranked decisions for every IPL, T20I, ODI and domestic fixture in the schedule.
What this site is
A research desk. The site’s primary outputs are decision surfaces (captain overlay, optimal XI under credit constraints, venue model, win-probability band) and the documentation that explains their inputs, weights and backtest. Each output is published with the residual interval so the reader can audit how confident the model is in the rank ordering.
What this site is not
- It is not a cricket news outlet. We do not publish match reports, live blogs, opinion columns or interviews.
- It is not a tipster service. We do not sell “VIP” picks, Telegram groups, or affiliate-locked content.
- It is not affiliated with any real-money fantasy operator. The scorecard on this site is editorial, not paid placement.
The four principles

Reproducibility
Every published number must be derivable from the inputs we cite. If a pick cannot be reproduced from the inputs, it is not published.

Probability, not prophecy
We publish ranked lists with confidence bands, not single locked predictions. The model writes a captaincy ranking; the user reads the band and decides.

No paid picks
CricJosh.app does not run VIP groups, Telegram channels, or affiliate-locked content. The output is the same for every visitor.

Compliance clarity
We are explicit about the legal status of paid fantasy in India. The workbench remains free to use regardless of state-level restrictions.
The desk
A small, named team. The roles are listed below; the personal names are with-held by editorial choice — the output is what the desk publishes, not the individuals who publish it.
- Data Science Lead: Sports-modelling background across T20 franchise leagues. Owner of the xFP regression pipeline.
- Cricket Analytics Engineer: Builds the ball-by-ball ingestion layer that keeps the captain overlay under 6 minutes stale.
- Editorial Operator: Maintains the methodology documentation and runs the backtest log. Does not write match reports.
Operating geography
The workbench runs on Cloudflare Workers and KV. The model re-train is bi-weekly. The editorial calendar is the cricket calendar: IPL, T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup, BBL, SA20, CPL, T20 Blast, Tests, and the bilateral series between full-member nations.
Compliance & disclaimer
CricJosh.app is an independent research property. We are not affiliated with BCCI, ICC, IPL, or any cricket board. The workbench is free to use. Paid-entry fantasy contests are a separate product; the legal status of those contests depends on the user’s state of residence (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Assam, Odisha, Sikkim and Nagaland currently restrict paid-entry contests). The CricJosh workbench remains usable regardless of jurisdiction.
